Scenes from Sacred Defense on display in Tehran

An exhibition themed on the enthusiasm of Iranian warriors during Iraq’s imposed war on Iran was held in Tehran.

Photos that bring to minds the sacrifices of Iranian warriors during the 1980-88 Iraq’s imposed war against Iran, which is also known as the eight years of Sacred Defense, have gone on display in an exhibition in Tehran.

The exhibition, which was held in the Iranian capital earlier this week, was themed on the enthusiasm of Iranian warriors during the imposed war.

Iraq invaded Iran and conducted airstrikes on a number of airbases in the Islamic Republic on September 22, 1980.

The war, which began 19 months after the victory of Iran’s Islamic Revolution, ended on August 20, 1988.

The Sacred Defense Week is an event that is held annually in Iran to mark the onset of the Iraqi imposed war on the Islamic Republic.
